Description
The white cotton has an all-over printed pattern of tiny wine sprigs, with a polychrome border design, 9¼" deep, round the hem.
The bodice and sleeves are lined with white cotton, and there are no bones.
The back is fastened by seven hooks with six worked eyelets and a large metal eye at the waist.
A ruched band of the fabric, 1⅝" wide, is sewn round the sleeves, about 6" down from the top, and the sleeves are gathered for about 2" into the seam at the elbow. The sleeve ends are open for 3", with two hooks and worked bars.
The sleeve ends, armhole seams, neck edge and centre front seam are all piped, and the skirt is cartridge pleated into the piped waist seam.
There are some brownish stains on the front of the skirt near the hem, and on the left sleeve.
