Description
There are four bust darts each side of the front bodice, and the front neck has a drawstring which ties at one side; the drawstrings round the back neck tie at the centre opening.
The back waist has drawstrings for 3½" each side of the centre back opening, and there are slits for access to a pocket each side of the skirt.
The sleeve heads are gathered into the armhole seams, and the ends are gathered into bands ⁵⁄₁₆" wide.
The hem of the skirt has a vandyke edge and is finished with cutwork, 3" deep.
Initials 'AC 4' are embroidered in red silk cross stitch inside the waistband; the petticoat has been starched.
